[ad_1]
Gamification Gamification. Digital marketing, social media, human resources processes, motivation at work… whatever the reason, we have started to hear this concept more frequently lately.
So what is this “gamification”?
Before delving into “gamification”, which derives from the concept of “game”, it is useful to remember the motivation sources for “playing games” and the mechanics of games. In addition to the actions and feelings behind the motivation to play games, some of which we can almost call “humanistic needs” such as creating a strategy, challenging, solving problems, creating competition, working as a team, socializing, playing a role, being noticed personally, loving the feeling of accomplishment, it is valid for almost everyone. There’s only one reason: playing games is fun.

Game playing mechanics are more or less as follows:
All of these can be considered as the most frequently used game playing mechanics.
Here, gamification, that is, gamification, is very basic and in one sentence.
“adapting the basic mechanisms of gaming to other areas of life”
It can be explained as.
Gamification,
• turning everything into a game,
• playing games at work,
• any integration of games within the scope of business,
• PBL use only (Points, Badges, Leaderboard),
• game theory
IT IS NOT!
However, gamification is using game-related concepts, dynamics and basic mechanics in a non-game concept.
Main benefits of gamification:
• enables people to be more participatory and productive,
• It makes daily and perhaps monotonous/boring tasks more enjoyable,
• helps the brain work more actively,
• makes learning easier,
• is both stimulating and challenging,
• allows people to make mistakes and learn from their mistakes,
• supports gaming skills,
• encourages creative thinking.
How does gamification do this, how can it be designed efficiently, what are the examples… these are in the next article 🙂
