8 Justifications for Rumors of Steve Jobs Being a Bad Person

The whole world is inspired by the achievements of Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs. We all follow closely what is written and drawn about him.

Almost all of us remember him well, but you may have heard rumors about him as “a bad person” or “a piece of shit”. Yes, maybe establishing the world's largest technology company is not an easy task, but this success is not enough for Jobs to cover up his past mistakes.

These mistakes are also boldly depicted in films such as Pirates of Silicon Valley and Steve Jobs (2015). Here are some of them:

1) Jobs had a daughter with his ex-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan in 1978. Her name was Lisa. Even though the parentage test was positive, he denied paternity for years.

He swore in court that he was infertile and naturally could not be Lisa's father. However, she also objected to the request to be tested to see if she was infertile.

2) 17 years ago, he stopped all philanthropic work and social responsibility projects of Apple. It never resumed.

He probably thought it was bullshit. He did not want to waste time, effort and money on these projects again.

3) Another venture after Apple had to make financial cuts for Pixar. And he did not compensate any of the employees he fired.

Even Pamela Kerwin, a Pixar employee, “employees should be informed at least two weeks in advance” When he objected, Steve Jobs said, “Okay, but the information had already started two weeks ago.”

4) Steve Jobs faced serious reactions by parking his Mercedes in a disabled parking area in 2011.

5) He pitted Apple's different departments against each other, aiming to motivate the entire company with a perfectionist approach.

He wanted his employees to have the same toxic ambitions he had. He thought this was necessary on the path to success.

6) While he was sick, he used the vulnerability in the UNOS (International Organ Transplant Network) system to get a liver transplant before others.

This mistake was one of the most unacceptable things.

7) Jobs' strange behavior towards the candidate during a job interview, as described in Walter Isaacson's book:

Steve to the island “How old were you when you lost your virginity?” asked. The candidate was astonished. Steve Jobs insisted: “I didn't understand what you said, are you a virgin or not?” The candidate was confused about what to do. Realizing this, Jobs changed the subject. “How many times have you taken LSD?” asked. (*Drug called lysergic acid diethylamide)

Andy Hertzfeld explains: “The poor man turned red. “So, in order to change the subject, I went directly to the technical questions.” Steve Jobs got bored of the candidate speaking in a low voice while answering technical questions and intervened to make his teammates, Smith and Hertzfeld, laugh: “Gobble, gobble, gobble…” (it was a turkey voice)

poor man, “I guess I'm not the right person for this job” saying, he got up and left.

8) He always made “you're fired” jokes to his employees in the office environment. He didn't hesitate to break the other person's heart when he was angry or when he didn't get what he wanted.

Nobody wanted to meet him, especially in the elevator. He would make “you're fired” jokes every time he got in the elevator, without exception.
