Social Media’s First Robot Phenomenon: Miquela Sousa

What if I told you that this photo belongs to a robot!

Be careful, because this robot, created by a company called 'Brud', founded in 2014, is a famous model and singer with 1 million followers on Instagram.

Miquela Sousa, who managed to astound everyone at first glance with her @lilmiquela Instagram account, which was active in 2016, attracted attention with discussions about whether she was a real person or a virtual simulation in the early days of her modeling career.

It has since grown in popularity by delving into a transmedia fictional narrative that spans real life, social media, and the internet. So much so that there is a fiction around it that is as good as the narratives of real phenomena.

Bermuda (@bermudalsbae), created by the company 'Cain Intelligence', founded in 2002, after Miquela, soon became more famous than her. Bermuda, who started harassing Miquela on Instagram and Facebook, took it so far that he took over Miquela's Instagram account. After this incident, Miquela regained her account, but in the meantime, she learned that Brud had lied to her and was not actually a human. These days, Brud is trying to express the situation to win Miquela back.

As of April, Miquela has over 1 million followers.

Miquela, who shares her posts as if she were a human, is also close friends with Ronnie Blawko (@blawko22), another robot created by the Brud company.

Blawko manages her Instagram account as realistically as Miquela. So much so that Fortnite videos, a popular game these days, are also among his posts.

Social media and artificial intelligence seem to surprise us with more interesting events day by day. Also, Miquela's songs published on Spotify from here you can reach.
